A very fine vintage for Riojas. This one shows an absolutely clear purple red with soft red-brown tints at the margin. Its nose appears still very young and rich, but typical Rioja. Plums, orange-peel, cacao, some bananas, new leather and forest floor. After some aeration it develops almost a pinot-noir-style with redberries, earthy aromas and soft hints of pieplant – great.
